
Drug Task Force
The Drug Task Force of Clayton County Iowa
The Clayton County Sheriffs Office has been a long time member of the Northeast Iowa Drug Task Force. The NEIDTF is comprised of city and county departments with officers dedicated to the investigation of drug cases and crimes. Yearly the NEIDTF receives funding the Iowa Office of Drug Control Policy which receives funds from federal grants. Money obtained by the NEIDTF goes to members agencies for reimbursement of overtime on drug cases and for official funds used in conjunction in purchasing illegal drugs. The NEIDTF also hosts yearly training free to local law enforcement agencies in the are of drug enforcement and education.
The task force also purchase, and makes available, drug enforcement equipment that a department might not be able to buy on there own. The Clayton County Sheriffs Office has three members that work with the task force. Task force meetings are routinely held once per month where officers exchange information and receive training.
