Investigator Ryan Johnson
Ryan started his career in law enforcement working as a reserve police officer for the city of Marquette in 1997. While working as a reserve officer Ryan attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo and obtained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Police Science. In December of 1999 Ryan was hired full time by the newly formed Mar Mac Police Department as an officer. Ryan attended the Intermediate Law Enforcement academy at Hawkeye Community College in the Spring of 2000. Ryan graduated with a Trophy from the academy for the "Top Gun" award in firearms proficiency. In January of 2002 Ryan was hired by the Clayton County Sheriffs Department as a deputy sheriff assigned to patrol. In March of 2002 Ryan was promoted to K9 handler for the department. Ryan served in this position until July of 2006 when his patrol K9 "Senna" was officially retired from his duties. In July 2006 Ryan was promoted to the position of Investigator and currently works in that assignment.
Ryan holds many qualifications. Ryan is qualified in the deployment of Less Lethal Ammunitions, patrol rifle, Hand Thrown Diversionary Devices, Center Axis Relock Tactical Pistol Handling, Clandestine Laboratory Technician (Meth Lab Clean Up), Site Safety Supervisor for Clan Labs, Emergency Responder to Hazardous Materials Technician, Undercover Techniques and Survival, and is also a certified LEIN Officer (Law Enforcement Intelligence Network). Ryan has also completed numerous hours of training in the field of Narcotics Enforcement, Spanish for Law Enforcement, National Incident Management System (NIMS), Electronic Evidence recovery, and Tactical Team Development and Operations.
