Jed Jones Career Biography

  • Jed started his career in law enforcement as a Reserve Police Officer for the Mount Vernon Police Department in the fall of 2005.

  • In Spring 2006, Jed graduated from Kirkwood CC with an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice.

  • In 2006, Jed was hired as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Clayton County Sheriff's Office.

  • In Spring 2008, Jed graduated from Mount Mercy College with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology.

  • In Fall 2008, Jed was hired as a full-time Police Officer for the Waukon Police Department.

  • In Spring 2009, Jed graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement academy.

  • On August 9th, 2010, Jed was hired as a Deputy Sheriff for the Clayton County Sheriff's Office.

  • In May 2011, Jed completed the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement class which is an advanced OWI alcohol/drug training.

  • In April 2011, Jed completed Marijuana Identification School.  Jed is the only Marijuana expert in Clayton County, and is certified to identify marijuana.
